Have you ever seen the runway as a performance? Spray paint Coperni SS23 with Bella Hadid & Alexander McQueen SS99 with Shalom Harlow were certainly one!

Once the music starts, a model performs one way or another whether they’re getting a white dress spray-painted onto them like Bella Hadid (@bellahadid) or simply walking a standard runway.

Hadid described the impressive stunt at Coperni’s (@coperni) #ParisFashionWeek SS23 show to be the best moment of her life to The New York Times (@nytimes). When asked about how cold it was, she said “cold is an understatement” but she “kind of just became the character, whoever she is.”

People were quick to draw parallels between the Coperni show and Alexander McQueen’s (@alexandermcqeueen) #LondonFashionWeek SS99 show although co-founder Arnaud Vaillant (@arnaud_vaillant) said it’s not in homage and “it’s totally different.”

Shalom Harlow’s (@shalomharlow) white dress was spray-painted by two robots sourced from a car manufacturing plant. The #supermodel, a former ballerina, danced as if she was interacting with the robots, adding an emotional element to the spectacle.
